We all want white teeth and fresh breath

We all want white teeth and fresh breath. But very few of us are willing to sacrifice ten minutes a day to carry out our oral hygiene that is necessary to fulfil this aim. It is very important to use a good quality toothbrush and a tooth paste that is not to abrasive and will strengthen the enamel surrounding the teeth. One more thing that the toothpaste needs to do is help the gums. If the gums reseed it can result in the teeth becoming loose and the gums bleeding after brushing and in severe cases even tooth loss if not treated early enough.

Now how do we achieve our white teeth and fresh breath? We need to brush twice a day. If we floss then this will also help to reduce the build up of plaque and food deposits left in-between the teeth after eating. We have to brush regularly and in the right way. Now most people wet the brush before applying the toothpaste. This is not necessary just apply the tooth paste and start to brush. When brushing the bottom teeth wriggle the brush at the base of the tooth and flick it upwards. When you have brushed all your bottom teeth then do the same to the top teeth flicking downwards. This helps to prevent gum inflammation and will remove any foreign objects such as seeds or pips still lodged. A good quality mouth rinse is also very important as it will reduce any bad odours that remain after eating spicy food or you not being able to brush until you return home.

Most people who succeed in this oral routine let it slip when they go to visit people over night or go on holiday. There is no reason for this, they are just being lazy. It is so important to carry on with this oral treatment even when on holiday or away we may start to eat very spicy food or food that is very acidic. This can attack the enamel and if left for a long time will result in irreversible damage. So no excuses, keep up with the daily routine. When packing, take the toothpaste, floss and mouthwash and do not forget your toothbrush.

Treat yourself to a nice new electric toothbrush. It is proven that they remove a lot more plaque when used regularly. The head of the brush whilst osolating can reach deep inbetween the teath. This is a very important feature. When needed, you simply replace the head part of the toothbrush. This should be done regularly as well as the bristles wear away so they will not be able to perform to their full potential.
