The Color Food Guide for Fruits and Vegetables
Eating fruits and vegetables is one of the best ways to maintain good health. Fruits and vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. They contain vitamins, phytochemicals, and minerals that can protect your body from diseases like diabetes, cancers, and heart diseases. Ideally, you should consume five kinds of vegetables and two kinds of fruits each day.
Some people claim that some of the benefits of certain foods may be indicated by their color. I have not researched this for proof, so I just include this information as a theory and no more than that.
(a) Red colored Fruits and Vegetables
Red colored fruits and vegetables are claimed to be good for your heart.
Some of these fruits and vegetables contain lycopene and anthocyanins which some people claim may have anti-aging and cancer protecting properties.
Red-colored fruits and vegetables are also promoted by some people as having properties that may improve your memory and help to some extent with the incidence and effects of urinary tract infections.
Red-colored fruits include cranberries, cherries, red grapes, raspberries, red pears, watermelon, pomegranates, strawberries, pink or red grapefruit, and beets.
Red-colored vegetables include red peppers, tomatoes, red radishes, radicchio, red leaf salad, fresh rhubarb, red-skinned potatoes and red onions.
(b) Green colored Fruits and Vegetables
Green colored vegetables and fruits may aid in easy digestion and allow for better absorption of vitamins and nutrients.

(c) Yellow colored Fruits and Vegetables
Yellow or orange-colored fruits and vegetables are claimed by some to be rich in vitamin C which may improve your body’s immune system, lower the risk of some cancers, safeguard your vision and help with some of the effects of natural aging problems. Some of these fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, bioflavonoids, phytochemicals and carotenoids.
Yellow colored fruits include yellow apples, cantaloupe, yellow figs, tangerines, grapefruit, cape gooseberries, lemons, oranges, mangos, nectarines, papayas, yellow watermelon, pineapples, pears, apricots, golden kiwifruit and peaches.

About the Author
Georgina Cundall
Georgina Cundall started to learn about the benefits of adding more fruit and vegetables to her diet when she had some minor health problems.
You can buy the ebook from http://www.fabfruitveg.ebooks-excel.com/
She was also starting to worry about how she could give her young children a healthier range of foods on a very limited budget.
An additional problem was finding things which the children would actually choose when she wasn’t around to supervise.
She discussed this with friends and found her concerns were widely shared, so she decided to put what she found into this book so that other people, especially women with a job and a young family, could benefit from her tips.
Georgina tried many things over the last couple of years and believes that almost everyone will find value in her suggestions in this book, whatever their situation.

Obviously our bulk bottles are bulk powder, not capsules, but the capsule weight is included to give you a way of judging the recommended dosage. Beet Root - Botanical Powder -- Approximately 600 mg. each capsule. 1/2 teaspoon of powder is about equal to one capsule. Powder can be consumed by sprinkling it over your food or mixing it with a syrup such as maple or chocolate. You could also mix it with orange juice. The citric acid in the orange juice will help to mask any unpleasant powder tastes. Other common names: Garden Beet, Sugar Beet, Spinach Beet, White Beet, Mangel Wurzel, Sea Beet Beet Root is a potent and nutritious source of natural energy and vitality. It is a great way to purify and build healthy blood and normalize the pH balance in our bodies. Moreover, clinical studies in Europe have demonstrated strong defense against malignant cell growth with the use of Beet Root. And just in case you thought you would have to endure seeing all the food on your plate turn bright magenta when served with Beet Root, you can now take an easy supplement to acquire all its many benefits. History: Beets are technically hardy biennials, but several species are treated as annuals by cultivators. It has large, thick, red-veined leaves and an enlarged, edible root that varies in size, and the plant may grow as high as four feet. The parent of all Beets, the wild Sea Beet, from which the most important varieties have been developed, are believed to have originated on the coastlines of Western Asia, the Mediterranean countries, and throughout Europe and Britain. The leaves were eaten as a vegetable, but the small, unappetizing roots, prior to cultivation techniques, were used primarily for medicinal purposes by ancient Greeks and Romans. It is difficult to date the exact use of the Beet, because, unlike seeds that may be found in archaeological sites, the root and leaves decay over time, but references of 300 B.C., claim that the Greeks cultivated the plant for its medicinal value and for its edible roots. Beet Root was so appreciated by the ancients that it was recorded as an offering on silver to the Greek god, Apollo, in his temple at Delphi, and Aphrodite is said to have eaten Beets to retain her beauty. Beet Root's botanical genus, Beta, is derived the second letter in the Greek alphabet, beta, which the root is said to resemble. The Beet has a deep taproot and grows best in loose, loamy, surface soil that is neutral-to-alkaline. The loose soil allows the plant to produce well-shaped roots. The familiar, rounded variety, which has become popular, wasn't developed until around the sixteenth century. Beets are classified according to use. The red variety, which was pioneered in Britain, is dominant, but golden and white Beet Roots are also grown on a smaller scale. Some other |

Red Beet Crystals 7 Oz $26.99 Red Beet CrystalsFresh beets are not available all year round, particularly organically grown beets. Beet Crystals are easier to store and use. A seven-ounce jar of Red Beet Crystals contains the equivalent of about 24 eight-ounce servings of red beet juice. This is in crystal form, so you would have to eat an awful lot of beets to match this - six pounds, in fact. Anyone who uses beet juice on a regular basis, I think, would find it rather difficult to eat enough or squeeze their own beets.. |

Beet Juice Powder 5 oz: HF $34.91 The beautiful red-purple color of beet root is evidence of the amazing plant pigments known as carotenoids. While it is believed that there are at least 500 of these natural compounds, only a handful have been analyzed, with betacarotene being the best known. Research on other carotenoids such as lycopene and lutein (both of which are present in PINES Wheat Grass, as well) suggests they do a lot to support optimum health. The more we know, the more the common refrain "eat your vegetables" is proven correct. PINES Beet Juice Powder is simply a tasty and convenient way to get some of the nutritional benefits of whole beets. |
