Air Jordan Fusions, perfect mix
The Air Jordan Fusions experiment began in 2008 with the Air Jordan XII being the first to go under the knife. Air Jordan Fusions – Black/Blue Sapphire-Cyber | AvailableSay what you want about some of the Air Jordan Fusions, but there are still some releases that turn out to be pretty astounding.
Some call the Air Jordan Fusions the best Jordan-meets-the-Force product to date due to its stark resemblance to the actual production shoe, and this latest colorway only strengthens that statement due to its great impression of the original Air Jordan Fusions Obsidian that released in February of 1997. The majority of you are impatiently awaiting the release of the Air Jordan 6 White/Varsity Red this Saturday; however, Jordan Brand has just released a quickstrike today in the form of the Air Jordan Fusions Not only does the design of the AJF XII look impressive, but the materials look top notch, from the pebbled leather on the toe to the leather "rising sun" panel on the sidewall.
When photos of this Air Jordan Fusions first surfaced, there was both positive and negative remarks regarding this sneaker. Nevertheless, it is one of the more interesting colorways we have seen on any Fusion model to date. The Obsidian XII is the only original colorway of the XII that Jordan himself never wore in a game, and it is one of the few retro Jordan shoes that remain in the Air Jordan Legacy. Check out the detailed images after the jump and let us know where this ranks among the Jordan fusions of the past.
Taking no short cuts on the details, this Air Jordan Fusions of the Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan XII (12) is a luxe model for sure. The Air Jordan XII (12) has signature elements that make it on this model, including the pebbled leather toe and the linear stitching on the upper. This model extends the pebbled material beyond the toe, swoosh, and laceholes and onto the midsole, and the contrast blue stitching on the upper lends a striking detail as well. The signature heel tab from the Air Jordan XII appears here as well.
In addition to the Air Jordan Fusions 12 Black/Blue Sapphire-Cyber we showed you earlier today, Jordan Brand will also release this Air Jordan Fusion 12 "Obsidian" tomorrow as well. This sneaker obviously draws its texture makeup and color inspiration from the iconic Air Jordans Fusions "Obsidian". Obsidian premium leather is the predominant color/texture on this shoe; yet the white premium leather toe area provides nice color blocking. Other features include white laces, an obsidian ankle strap and French Blue/University Blue Jordan branding on the heel.

Kingdom of XII [LP] $26.98 Molly Hatchet: Phil McCormack (vocals, harmonica); Bobby Ingram (acoustic & electric guitars, background vocals); Bryan Bassett (guitar); John Galvin (keyboards, background vocals); Andy McKinney (bass, background vocals); Sean Shannon (drums, percussion).Additional personnel includes: Charlie Daniels, Julie Worland, Rolf Kohler, Agneta Kjorsvik.Recorded at Karo Studios, Brackel, Germany.Skeptics who listen to Molly Hatchet's 2001 album Kingdom of XII are in for a big surprise: the album is quite good. The band always went through dizzying personnel changes, and there isn't one original member of the band left here. However, that's not important to fans, because Molly Hatchet are an entity more than a vehicle for specific personalities. Lyrically, Kingdom of XII gives props to its core audience: bikers, veterans, blue-collar workers, and residents of Dixie. Musically, Molly Hatchet always represented the hard rock side of Southern rock, and many songs on Kingdom of XII illustrate this. The band is led by two longtime members -- lead guitarist Bobby Ingram and keyboardist John Galvin -- and vocalist Phil McCormack is a dead ringer sonically for original growler Danny Joe Brown. That's not a criticism of McCormack, either. It's important to pull off old classics live, but he's also Ingram's main songwriting partner. "Why Won't You Take Me Home" has an infectious pop/honky tonk groove. "Gypsy Trail" and "White Lightning" are shots of hard-rocking boogie, and guest Charlie Daniels adds some wicked fiddle licks. A pounding, respectful cover of the Rolling Stones' "Tumbling Dice" is fun. "Angel in Dixie" has more of a country flavor than the rest of the songs here. Molly Hatchet are at their most exciting when the guitarists jam their brains out; therefore, the three epics on Kingdom of XII are the highlights. "One Last Ride" features strong vocals and lyrics from McCormack, but the blowout guitar riffing at the end is terrific. The dramatic keyboards in "Dreams of Life" add depth to the guitar bombast. Ingram and Galvin were once part of Brown's band and the fantastic "Edge of Sundown" is an acoustic version of a song from Brown's 1981 solo album. ~ Bret Adams |
