History.
Havaianas were developed in 1962 in Brazil in South America where they were originally manufactured by hand with natural reed based around Japanese Zori sandals. Havaianas are current darlings of the fashionistas, with their flip flop coming in a rainbow of bright colours - rubber toe post sandals made from high grade, high density eva and natural rubber.

Havaianas flip flops are developed from a high density natural latex rubber compound which is properly 'cured' which is a millions of miles from cheap flip flops that you find in baskets outside seaside shops or in supermarkets - these are often made from the cheapest recycled materials, made in China and designed to fall completely apart after just a few wears.

Havaianas are now so famous because they don't collapse they're worn, they don't stink after a few wears and the thongs don't fall apart like most cheap flip-flops! Rainbow Toe Posts from Havaianas were designed in 1994 and were distributed in over 20 different colour combinations. In 1998 World Cup year, Havaianas developed a one off sandals with a small diamond shaped Brazilian flag on the outside of the straps. This sandal became a million seller around the world!- Iconic Brazil Havaianas is now central to the whole range and is now offered in a myriad of different colour combinations.

In 1998 Brazil's football team didn't win the World Cup but the Havaianas won in the the fashion stakes, when the new badged up style was seen on all the feet of the nation!
Havaianas began to spread out around the world like wild-fire by 2000 after being sold in Australian and the Asian markets. France and other European countries also began stocking the brand to the point where is became a worldwide phenomenon. In 2006 when the all new Havaianas-Slim design was developed and sold all over the globe with narrower thongs on the upper, worldwide, Women went mad for the new design and it is now core to the current ranges in 2011.

With an incredible array of new screen prints, patterns and colours launched, Havaianas are now sold In over 60 countries and are a reflection of Brazil's high-spirits worldwide!

In 2007 the company opened its distribution centre in Madrid push the expansion process in Europe. Havaianas are the real, bona_fide job, the real-deal, great sandals, lightweight footwear for all through the summer which mix high quality materials with incredible looks and durability! Havaianas are now available for Men and Women with Men's Havaianas being sold in more muted colours than Women's Havaianas.
