Pamper your Feet with a Pair of Comfort Shoes
Are shoes a source of pain for you? Maybe you have an unusual sized foot or maybe your feet have undergone a trauma that has made it hard to find comfortable footwear. The good news is there are several brands of comfort, supportive footwear.

Sizes
Shoemakers know not every woman wears a 7½ medium, just as not every man wears a size 10. There are lots of people with unusual shoe sizes who need a comfortable shoe. New Balance
New Balance was founded in 1906 by William J. Riley, who wanted to help people with foot problems by making arch supports and prescription footwear. He was quite successful, but when the next generation stepped into the company, New Balance developed the first performance running shoe – the Trackster, with its rippled sole. The shoe was a hit with athletes, coaches and runners. Today, New Balance continues to focus on running shoes, as well as other comfort shoes.
The men's MR993BK is a classic running shoe, made with a pigskin and mesh upper. It is lightweight, but thoroughly supportive. The polyurethane midsole cushions the foot. There is extra cushioning in the heel for even more shock absorption.
A durable walking shoe for men is the MW780BR. The company calls it a breathable country walker that is lighter than most hiking boots. Made of Nubuck leather and mesh upper, the shoe is nice enough looking to be worn casually. Its stability web provides midfoot support and also reduces the shoe's weight. This walker offers the maximum shock absorption and its non-marking rubber outsole will give the walker great traction.
New Balance also offers a country walker for women, the WW755BN. It is an attractive, casual slip-on shoe that you could wear on a hike, or with jeans into the grocery store. It has a split suede upper that lets your foot breathe. There is cushioning in the heel and forefoot for shock absorption. It also has durable and non-marking rubber outsole.
Merrell
Newer to the comfort shoe market, Merrell Footwear Company was founded in 1981with the goal of creating footwear that would promote an active lifestyle. The company first made shoes that could ensure high performance despite rugged terrain. Now, as people tend to specialize in their activities – rock climbing, trail hiking, running or walking – Merrell is making shoes to meet all demands. It also makes shoes for indoors, such as sandals and moccasins.
A classic hiking boot for women is the Siren Waterproof Mid Leather. With these rugged, supportive boots, you can hike mountains, cross rivers and jump across rocks with little effort. Made with Nubuck and pig suede leather upper, the bellows tongue will keep out dirt and debris. Chaco
Chaco's founder, Mark Paigen, was working as a whitewater rafting guide on the Colorado River in the mid-1980s when he started making sport sandals for himself and then the other guides. Paigen couldn't refuse when customers wanted in on the shoes. Faced with growing demand for his sandals, Paigen launched Chaco in 1989.
Today, the company continues to produce a variety of sandals for men and women. They are known for their colorful synthetic uppers and the BioCentric footbeds that have molded arches, offer extra shock absorption and prevent over pronation. One of its better known sandals is the Zong EcoTread, a slip-on performance sandal with an outsole made partially of recycled rubber.
