 This Is How The DANCING WITH THE STARS 2009 Teams Will Pair Up

 

Lawrence Taylor will be teaming up with Edyta Sliwinska - so how compatible will they be? Well, based on his name, Lawrence will like to have things done his way. He'll have charm, he'll be talkative and he will be abundantly aware of everything happening in his surroundings. Based on her name, Edyta will be a complete "talker" - so these two are going to spend a LOT of studio time chattering about something or other. Edyta will be fine to let Lawrence have things done his way; as she'll be easy going. Lawrence will not necessarily be an innovator, but he’ll be good at taking Edyta's and other people’s ideas and making them his own - and then turning them into his successes. So Lawrence is going to be an exceptionally observant student of Edyta's instructions and they will make a great team. 

   

Nancy O'Dell is partnered with Tony Dovolani. Based on her name, Nancy will have drive and determination. She'll have a quick mind and tend to be a people pleaser. Based on her name, Julianne will have great taste - so expect her outfits to be alluring and unique. She'll be creative, social and a fun magnet. She'll put herself together well and will work overtime in the studio, because she has a driving need to succeed and feel important due to her successes. If Chuck makes her feel important, they'll get along great, but in order to win, Chuck will have to follow whatever Julianne says, and Chuck doesn't like to do what people tell him to do.

   

Belinda Carlisle is teamed with Jonathan Roberts. Based on her name, Belinda will have a sassy, sarcastic personality. She'll be capable and will have a good sense of how things need to be done, in order to score high marks. Belinda needs to be in control of her surroundings to feel comfortable, Based on his name, Jonathan will have an easy going nature, so he'll let Belinda feel she has control over her surroundings. Belinda will want to feel loved and included but she also wants to be revered and admired. These are two completely different sets of attitudes, so Belinda may be misunderstood by her cast mates. Jonathan will be competent and success oriented. They both share a good work ethic and a drive to win - so as long as Jonathan let's Belinda have her way and as long as he tells her how much he appreciates her hard work, then they'll work well as a team.

   

Lil' Kim is partnered with Derek Hough. Based on her name, Lil' Kim will be good looking, savvy, creative and independent. She'll enjoy being the center of attention. She'll have a silliness to her and a strong will to survive in this competition. She's going to think that she's contributing more to the TV program than she's getting credit for. Based on his name, Derek will be social, daring and in need of Lil' Kim's admiration. He’ll be friendly, not afraid to work and ironically he also seems to think he doesn't get the credit he deserves. So these two as a team will do whatever is necessary in order to prove themselves.

   

Jewel is teamed with Dmitry Chaplin. Based on her name, Jewel will be cocky, creative, flirtatious and fickle. Based on his name, Dmitry will be daring and creative. He'll use his friendliness to win over the crowd. He'll be a partier but he'll also have a protective personality. So when Jewel gets stressed, he'll make her laugh until she forgets what she was worried about in the first place.

   

Shawn Johnson is teamed with Mark Ballas. Based on her name, Shawn will be good looking, capable, determined and street smart. She's not going to back down from her beliefs and she'll usually win in an argument. Based on his name, Mark will be a nice, non-confrontational person - so he'll let Shawn win, if there ever is an argument. Mark will be hard working, capable, friendly and accepting of Shawn's need to make decisions and control the creative direction of the dance (at least until the cameras are off).

   

Ty Murray is partnered with Chelsie Hightower. Based on his name - Ty will be loud, vivacious and personable. He'll love being the center of attention. Ty will love the fun of being involved with the show, however he'll be private about what’s happening in his personal life. Based on her name, Chelsie will be bossy, funny and good at picking the battles with her partner, which she knows she can win. These two will have a LOT of fun in the dance studio. Chelsie will come fully loaded with jokes, anecdotes and grandiose stories - all of which she'll use in order to get Ty to learn his routine.

   

Steve - O is teamed with Lacey Schwimmer. Based on his name - Steve-O will be friendly, social, capable and stubborn. He’ll be generous to his partner Lacey with compliments and flirtatious comments. Steve-O will be focused on being successful with this venture - and he's really good at getting what he wants. In the studio, he’ll be hard working, shrewd and a risk taker. He wants to do as he pleases, but his image and reputation are very important to him - so he'll temper his actions by deciding 1) how will my actions be perceived by others 2) can I get away with it if I’m caught. Based on her name, Lacey will be independent and willing to throw a tantrum in order to get what she wants. She'll be sassy, feisty and funny. She'll try anything once and will be fun to watch.

   

Steve Wozniak is partnered with Karina Smirnoff. Based on his name "The Woz", Steve will be  talkative, smart, cerebral about learning the dance routine and bold in his presentation. Based on her name, Karina will be fun, assertive and independent. She won't let "The Woz" slack during the dance practice. Karina's greatest skills include her friendly personality and her sense for detail and assertiveness. She'll use these tools to the best of her ability to keep herself and "The Woz" in the competition.

   

Denise Richards is teamed with Maksim Chmerkovsky. Based on her name, Denise will be social, fun, observant and self absorbed. She'll need to control of every aspect of anything that affects her. She'll have a great laugh; most things are funny to her. It's difficult to fully know a Denise because part of her needs to belong and be nurtured, at the same time the other part of her needs to be free and independent. Consequently, she's going to want everyone to love her on the show, then she's going to want to run from the responsibilities and stress of the show, in order to feel independent. Based on his name, Maksim will have a mind of his own. He'll be a risk taker and not afraid of consequences. Maksim will love being the center of attention on stage. He'll always be thinking of new dance moves or new ways to explain how to execute these moves. The trouble with this team will only arise because Denise can be bossy and Maksim hates to be told what to do.
