Chicago Bulls Tickets - Summer Targets
When the Bulls shipped John Salmons to Milwaukee and Tyrus Thomas to Charlotte at the trading deadline, they freed up enough projected cap space to enable them to offer a max contract to someone this upcoming summer. The Bulls are already a borderline playoff team with some budding young players, so the addition of a superstar could thrust the team into legitimate contention in the Eastern Conference. With a core that features Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah, the Bulls make for an attractive destination for prospective free agents, namely shooting guards and power forwards. Let's take a look at who Chicago could target this summer.
LeBron James, Small Forward, Cleveland Cavaliers: Everyone will make a run at the king, but I'm not sure the Bulls have much of a shot to get him. If there were able to land him, though, the Bulls would immediately be a title contender, which speaks volumes to how good James truly is. Chicago Bulls tickets would reach Jordanesque popularity with his arrival. James could fill the void at shooting guard, though he's really a small forward, and could be attracted to joining a young nucleus. I don't think it's likely, but it's still worth mentioning.
Dwyane Wade, Shooting Guard, Miami Heat: Not a lot of people expect Wade to leave South Beach, but I think him joining the Bulls is a real possibility. Wade is exactly the kind of two-guard that the Bulls need, someone who can score at will. They nearly took down Boston in the playoffs last season with Ben Gordon; imagine what they could do with D-Wade. Wade is a Chicago native and would surely like to play in the same backcourt with Rose, but a lot will depend on what the Heat are able to do to convince him to stay this summer.
Chris Bosh, Power Forward, Toronto Raptors: If the Bulls can't land Wade, they'll likely shift their attention to the power forward position, where there are some really good players set to be available. Bosh headlines that group and would be a great fit in Chicago. He'd be able to focus on scoring and would not have to worry about defense as much thanks to the presence of Noah. Bosh has expressed the desire to be the best player on his team, and while Rose is a star in Chicago, Bosh would be top dog.
Amare Stoudemire, Power Forward, Phoenix Suns: Amare would be a great consolation prize if the team missed out on Bosh. He's incredibly gifted and can be a terror on the offensive end. Since nearly being traded at the deadline, he's ramped up his game and has delivered some staggering performances. Should he be motivated to give it his all, he could have the Bulls contending for home court advantage in 2010-11. His defensive deficiencies could be masked somewhat by Noah's presence and he wouldn't have to completely carry the team's scoring load with Rose and Deng contributing.
Carlos Boozer, Power Forward, Utah Jazz: Boozer would be another great fit in the Windy City. He's a crafty scorer in the post, a good rebounder and would provide the scoring on the low block that the team has sorely lacked for nearly a decade. He'd probably be the team's third choice, after Bosh and Stoudemire, due to his age and injury history, but he'd be a nice get nonetheless.

Amare Stoudemire $74.88 Amare Carsares Stoudemire (born November 16, 1982) is an American professional basketball player for the NBAs Phoenix Suns. He is a 6foot10inch (208 cm) and 249pound (113 kg) power forward/center. Stoudemire won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2003, made four appearances in the NBA AllStar Game, made firstteam AllNBA Team in 2007, and won Bronze Medal with the United States mens national basketball team at the 2004 Olympic Games. Stoudemires first name had previously been listed in the Phoenix Suns media guide as Amare or Amare, but it was changed to Amare in October 2008.
