John was born and raised in north central Idaho. He worked in the woods every summer from the time he was old enough until he served in the army. He attended the University of Idaho and received a law degree from the University of Michigan. Following law school, he served in military intelligence with the Eighth Army in Korea.

Over the years John has accomplished a great deal and represented clients in cases involving securities fraud, commercial transactions, environmental disputes, constitutional issues (the First Amendment right of free speech and the Fourth Amendment right to be free of unreasonable searches and seizures), zoning, discrimination (age & sex), crimes, and many others. His clients have spanned the most powerful to the most vulnerable. John has 42 years of experience before state and federal courts. He has been an Idaho District Judge for five years.

 

Judge Bradbury's Bio

  • Elected Idaho District Judge in 2002. Reelected in 2006.
  • Admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, and in Idaho, Washington, and Alaska (inactive).
  • Served as partner in a Seattle maritime law firm.
  • Was the founding partner of a 35-lawyer law firm in Anchorage and Seattle.
  • Served as Special Assistant Attorney General for the state of Washington.
  • Served as a lawyer delegate from Western District of Washington and District of Alaska to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
  • Born in Orofino and raised in the logging town of Headquarters in Clearwater County.
  • Received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho and his law degree from University of Michigan.
  • Served in Korea with the Eighth Army 502d Military Intelligence Battalion.
  • Carnegie Heroism Foundation Award (1960).
  • Judicial Excellence Award, Idaho Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (2006).
  • Adjunct instructor at Lewis-Clark State College.
